Russian search engine Yandex surpasses Google

arthra yandexThe Russian search engine “Yandex” stated to be 6 times more effective than Google in tracing malicious websites.
This result was announced by the internationally recognized web security company “Sucuri”, from California, USA.

Special analyzers came to the conclusion based on the results of a million websites with the most visitors from statistics source “Alexa” on August 2013.

According to the result of the research, website stated malicious are the ones where malware is located, which infects computers with spam trojans or other malicious programs. The search is done either from search engines or from application made for fighting them.

Totally the 10% of the top one million websites according to Alexa, about 108.780, have some kind of malware. From them, 18.557, that is the 2%, were added in the black list because of the dangerous malware they were infected with.

After comparing the data bases from anti-virus companies and the catalog of the 18.557 websites that did not pass the security tests, Sucuri experts found that the biggest identification with the Sucuri list was anti-virus company McAfee. It's data base contains 11.00 dangerous websites from the catalog.

“Yandex” gained the third best place in general classification and first in locating infected websites, as it managed to trace 2154 websites from the Sucuri list.

Τhis result is far greater than Google, which managed to find only 357 websites.
Characterizing a website as malicious is one of the worst scenarios for a website, as it automatically loses its presence in search engine results, losing the best part of its visitors.
For example, if a website finds itself in Google's black list, than the users of Chrome and Firefox, when trying to visit it, come across a warning that warns them not to enter, since there is a possiblity they will get infected. Yandex usually shows the danger a certain website hides.

Sucuri was established in 2010 in California and is active in the fields of growth and sales of security services in websites.
